Marut Drones, India’s leading drone manufacturing company, secured top honors for its surveillance drone, at the Amravati Drone Hackathon 2024, outperforming more than 450 participants. Marut emerged victorious in Category 4 and won a cash prize of Rs 3,00,000, which focused on the use of drones to enhance public safety and law enforcement. The award was presented by Shri Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and Shri K Ram Mohan Naidu, Minister of Civil Aviation of India. The Amravati Drone Hackathon 2024, was a platform for technology providers, startups, and innovators to demonstrate their capabilities and work alongside government stakeholders, driving the adoption of drone technology in state governance. The Amravati Drone hackathon posed a challenge for innovators to create drone solutions that enhance public safety and law enforcement, focusing on the monitoring of large gatherings, detection of illegal activities, and effective nighttime surveillance. Marut’s surveillance drone is an advanced end-to-end drone system featuring high-resolution cameras, infrared sensors, and AI-powered software for real-time object recognition. The drone system excels in comprehensive surveillance for traffic management, drone accident reconstruction, accurate evidence gathering, effectively monitoring large gatherings to ensure crowd control and enhance safety protocols as well as monitor illegal activities such as poaching and mining in restricted or forest areas. Equipped with optical zoom, thermal imaging and night vision capabilities, the drone can operate efficiently in low-light conditions, making it crucial for patrolling areas vulnerable to criminal activities. Using ML and AI based analytics, the drone can help tackle personnel and resource limitations. It can be integrated with surveillance apps used by state governments and police departments, allowing for automatic deployment upon receiving an SOS alert from command centers. Once the drone reaches the site, situation can be assessed and the relevant departments, such as ambulance services, police patrols, and fire engines can be alerted. With a coverage radius of 5 kilometers, the drone delivers real-time video feeds to public safety authorities. Equipped with a speaker and high-beam lights, it can identify and issue warnings to potential criminals. This technology provides vital intelligence, enabling quicker access to locations than ground units, while also minimizing risks to officers in high-stress situations. The drone is highly scalable, making it deployable across multiple cities and regions, all interconnected with centralized control centers to ensure continuous coverage. The measurable impact of this innovative drone solution is significant for law enforcement agencies, with the potential to reduce emergency response times by 30-50% and increase successful incident resolutions by 20%. Furthermore, it can cut operational costs by 15-20% while boosting the detection of illegal activities by 25%. Beyond its operational benefits, Marut’s drone technology can foster social and economic growth. By lowering crime rates and increasing community confidence, it can create a conducive environment for businesses and public events. The introduction of Marut’s aerial surveillance drone is also expected to generate new job opportunities in drone operations and technical support.
